Women's Health - October 2006

Okay! This sounds crazy, but I'm in high school and I usally get my period during the holidays, 1 after every term. I've been having a brown discharge and light blood spotting when I go to the toilet, but if I wear a pad nothing shows. Usually my periods are so heavy I need to wear a maternity pad, so this is incredibly weird! Any ideas whats happening to me? Its been over a week!

Oh, I'm 16 and I've had my period for 2 1/2 years, and its only this year that its taken to coming every holidays. Could it be stress related?

I hope it's safe to ask this question at YA. Usually after my period, my pubic hair are knotted. I've been told to take a shower and it comes out. But mine doesn't. I usually have to cut the knot out. Is there anyway to get the knots out. Plus, when I go to the bathroom, some of the hairs come out. I know for certainly that it doesn't grow back. Have this ever happen to you?

My nails were AMAZING until I came to university and they started BREAKING and CHIPPING and becoming gross! I can't stop them from chipping! I took SUCH good care of them in the summer and now i'm devastated.
WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP THEM GROW FASTER AND STRONGER. Dont give me brands of polish to go buy please. Any techniques or cremes?

All my life i have had alot of unwanted hair. Above and below my belly button, back, breasts, arms, toes etc. Its blonde but still bothers me. I am always concious of it. My mother was the same but i think i am worse than her.
What causes this? should i do something about it now while im young? or is there nothing that i can do? just keep waxing my body every couple of months.
I would like to know if there are any other women like me?
This is something i am very embarrased about so please no harse comments because i have had to put up with them all my life. I want a personal or medical opinion.

this pregnancy is unplanned,and it would hurt my family. i really wish i could keep the baby,but since i have used the two tablets of the gynaecosid,maybe it is gone.i am stil waiting for my period hopefully.yet,i hope this tablet does not affect any pregnancies in the future?

My Mother was dianosed in May with Squamos Cell Carcinoma Vulvar Cancer. She had surgery where they removed most of the left side of her Vulvar, plus some lymph nodes out of her left thigh.

Yesterday, she told me she found another spot in the same area, just above where they operated. The Dr. who did the surgery said she was 98% cured.

What are the chances this could be the same thing?...I do realize there is a 2% chance, but is there a possibilty this something else like scar tissue or something?

For those who dont know what this is...

It is a form of skin cancer that was in her Vaginal area. Mom had a historectomy 26 yrs ago, so there is no chance of Uteran or Fallopian Cancer, but if it gets into the blood stream, it could become other types of Cancer.....like Bladder or Rectal.

We have an appt with her Dr. on Thurs, but I am just curious...

Hello everyone, I took a own brand pregnancy test this morning and it showed a very faint line within the time frame. 45 minutes later the result is stronger on the test does this mean I am definately pregnant or does this just happen when the test dries??? Thanks.

Someone told me that, and I think its bull. I've had a baby and experience orgasm just as easy and frequently as before, as many as 9 in one session before I am too worn out. Even right after I was all healed up, and I had a major episiotomy. But is this a problem for other mothers, or was this person just making an assumption?

I'm 19 years old. i found this lump in my boob a couple weeks back, i went to the doctor and he suggested i get it surgically removed. there is a history of lumpy boobs in my family(non cancerous) so im not too worried i jus wanted to know if there is any1 else who has had a similar operation and how long they were in the OR, they recovery time and how painful it was. if any1 has any insight on my issue please answer
