You can take a "morning-after pill" (the name depends on which country you're in), for up to 72 hours after unprotected intercourse. Or you can have a coil fitted for up to 5 days after the incident.

IN the UK, the drug usually used is levonorgestrol 1.5mg as a single dose, preferably within 12 hours, but up to 72 hours after intercourse (its brand name is levonelle). In the UK it is available from family planning clinics, GUM clinics, GP surgeries and some A&E depts, and is free of charge.

You can use the emergency contraception or the so called 'morning after pill'. This is a contraceptive that prevents pregnancy after sex. when you use this the probability of getting pregnant will be lessened. You dont have to wait until the next morning, you can take the pills right away or use them for up to five days after sex. The sooner you use the pills the faster they work. This pills contain the same hormones found in ordinary birth control pills. You can use the pill with the brand name 'Plan B'. You can also use the progestin-only birth control pill. This can reduce your risk of getting pregnant by 86 per cent. There is also the 'combined' emergency contraceptive pills, This contain both progestin and a hormone called eostrogen. This pills cut your chances of getting pregnant by 75%. However you are likely to experience side effects like nausea and vomiting.

The morning after pill can take right after sex, actually you can take it 3 day in advance, but you know, the morning after pill will (painful) reset your reproduction system, and had a lot of side effect, so why don't use a condom (or other method) during sex.
