Over 5 years ago, a friend of mine was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was stage two (a little in the lymph nodes) but they thought it was gone. Everything has been great for the last few years! She recently had a back ache and it turned out that the cancer was back, only this time it has traveled to various areas including the liver.
I was hoping that someone might know of a book that may offer some hope in regards to her situation.

There has never been one solid link to connect smoking with cancer. If you know of just one chemical that links tobacco with cancer then please tell me as there are billions of dollars on offer to anyone that can. So to all you gifted people out there either put up or shut up. The truth is that one has more chance of getting cancer if one doesnt smoke. Read the Lancet and learn We all know that there probably is a link but at the moment we don't know what it is. So unless you can speak with some authority then please keep quite Smoking has no connection with cancer. Other respiratory systems however are affected.

I had my last chemo treatment June 18th, 2007. Had my lumpectomy & they also did lymph node dissection July 6th. My black straight hair pretty much came off 3rd week after my first chemo treatment. I had super thick hair down to my butt and I miss it. I now (July) have some noticeable fuzz on my head. It's not as course or thick as it used to be. The weird part is that my brows & eyelashes didn't start coming off until just about 2 months ago or so. Does anyone know when it may start growing back? I literally have a few strands of eyelashes left. They used to be fairly thick & long & straight. Is this experience different for every race? I'm asian. I still have to receive radiation treatment soon, not scheduled yet. And still have to receive herceptine I.V. every 3 weeks until sometime early next year. I just got some fake eyelashes & now have to try & use them. I hope I don't accidentally glue my eyes shut trying to apply that thing on. Then I'd be a blind cancer patient. LOL!!! I sincerely appreciate anyone's input and good luck to everyone out there who shares the same experience as this. THANK YOU ALL!!!

I had been a team manager and one of my team was diagnosed with cancer. (don't know what type) She began to suffer a lot of pain mainly in her back, tiredness etc. Didn't receive a lot of help from Dr's so searched the web for info. Found advice that with certain cancers a reduction of oestrogen which was in most dairy products made real difference as apparently this feeds certain cancers. She checked her diet and cut out all items with this ingredient. I was truly stunned at the change in this lady and how her health and mobility improved very quickly. I am not saying this is a cure but can't understand why this is not widely known or is it just that I did not know about it. Have lost a large number of family to this disease. So has anyone heard this before?

My mother who is 64 has been diagnosed with lung cancer- PET scan shows positive areas in other parts of her body. She is refusing to have radiation and chemotherapy treatment. She thinks her life is over. I am trying to be as supportive as I can and respectful of her wishes. This is a difficult situation. I don't want to insist she has therapy - if it she has a short time left- the chemotherapy may cause her suffering. Of course I want her around for as long as possible- but not at the expense of her suffering- and then she still passes on.

I had a lumpectomy with Sentinal node removal about 2 months ago. Lymph nodes were negative and I'm receptor positive. I'm half way into my 33 days of Radiation. The Oncologist wants to put me on Tamoxifen, after radiation. I heard blood clots are a side affect of the drug. My mother died of a Stroke. Cancer doesn't run in our family. My cousin knows of two women(one in her 30's, the other early 40's)both had non-invasive cancer, like mine. Both went on Tamoxifen, BOTH died of massive strokes within 4 months of starting the pill. They were diagnosed 7 years apart. Does anyone else question taking this drug, when you have non-invasive, cancer? I don't want to risk a stroke.

i have been biting my lip for who knows how long and i bite constantly even now. i stop myself (like right now) but then i start feeling tense and anxious (right now!!!) as if i need to bite it. if i keep forcing myself not to bite eventually the anxiety goes away. but when i stop concentrating on biting 3 seconds later i find myself doing it again. i used to bite really deep and get sores and even numbness all the time. now its scar tissue and tough to bite and there isnt much fleshiness to bite a good chunk. once i bit my lip so bad when i drank cold water it felt like the water was running down my chin when it wasnt. it hurts but its a relief and i kinda like it. wow im biting again... ahhh this is bad. a week ago i bit a deep chunk and it got to be a sore. i try to remember to swish my mouth w/ warm salt water everynight to help it heal. since there isnt much but scar tissue i bite the cheeks, and nibble at the scar tissue, it doesnt hurt. im use to it? so, can i get oral cancer?
