Mrs.Lee was a 49yrs old cantonese-speaking women who had immigrated years ago from china to the US. she lived with her husband a nd youngest son, arnold,22. studies revealed that mrs lee suffered from lung cancer that had metastasized to her lymph nodes and adrenal glands. arnold did not want mrs lee's diagnosis known to her. eventually, the cancer spread to her brain. her physician, knowing her poor prognosis, suggested a DNR to her son, who refused to even discuss the possibility with his mother. arnold felt thathis role as son and family member meant he must protet his mother"bad news" and lose hope. he belived telling her the dim prognosis would be cruel and cause unnecessary stress. thought futile, the son insisted that all heroic methods be used, including a ventilator, to save his mother's life. he accused the house staff and the physician of racism and threatened litigation. as family member, consider himself, not the doc or patient, responsible for his mother treatment.

Why is breast cancer a hot topic? I think that it is wrong to just sell pins none stop and have talk shows about 24x7x365. We also have walks, talks etc.... yes it is terrible thing but if women take care of them self and do check ups they can be proactive... and save themselfs.... how about diseases or illnesses that people cant do anything about- like parkinsons, multiple sclerosis, leukimia, Lou gerids etc... how about them? I think Breast cancer is terrible but you have options...other people dont... why dont we focus on disease in general... or is this a fear thing on women...

I am getting ready to build one of Dr. Hulda Clarks little "zapper" tools that is suppossed to destroy parasites and some bacteria living inside the human body. I was wondering if anyone knows of whether or not this thing is actually effective or not, and does anyone know about safety? Please dont respond unless you have experienced use with the zapper. Thank you.

My dad was diagnosed a few months ago with prostate cancer. They've been treating him with some anti-testosterone shot and it seems to be working. His blood work shows an dramatic improvement in the 3-4 months since that started. But, he was told that although it hadn't spread to any of his organs that it had "affected his bones." He's been having a lot of difficulty and pain that has gotten worse and is going to see an oncologist in a week and a half. He isn't sure that he has bone cancer, but he's pretty sure that was what the doctor meant.

So, while I know that the prognosis for prostate cancer is quite good and that there is an excellent recovery rate for that I know very little about bone cancer. I have the impression that it is much more serious. Is it a pretty fatal disease? How treatable is it???

I am sick of cancer survivors being treated like heroes. I survived a brain tumor. I am no hero, I'm just an asshole who got cancer! Heroes do something extrordinary and help people. Thoughts?
