You could buy them in a set. All of the spheres contained gears of different types attached to rods. The rods inside all went between 6 openings situated at 6 points on each sphere. You could connect them with couplers and make small devices such as submarines, vacuum cleaners and even floor-walking robots.

He does not have good language skills but uses sign language. he is really into cars and balls of all types and also likes music. I am trying to think of something a little different than the balls I usually get him and have wondered about the electronic drumsticks. Any help greatly appreciated.

I was a first grader in 96-97 and I asked to get this present for my birthday. It was a playset that somehow involved the Statue of Liberty. You could pull down part of her face and there would be like some sort of gun inside. It involved action figures smaller than your average 3-3/4 inch G.I. Joe. It was a multi-level set. I believe it could have been made by Hasbro, Kenner, Mattel, or one of the other big name toy companies. I'm usually good about remembering my toys but I played with it so little (it was somewhat fragile and got destroyed). So all I have is the retractable piece of Lady Liberty's face. Sorry about the little details, I was only about 7 or 8 when this toy came out...

In the course of answering another question, I am trying to figure out what the name of an old childhood toy was. It was an oval and most of them had blue and white sand in (though mine had pink and white with a bit of glow-in-the-dark). The object was to make sand art designs in this disc and then you could stand it up and display your sand art. Anyone remember the name of it?

Thanks so much for your help! Peace!
