I have been keeping track of the most frequently played numbers for the Powerball for a couple of months now. Do I have a greater chance of winning if I pick from those numbers I notice are most frequently drawn or do I stand a better chance with just buying a quick pick? I don't understand.......how do people win this thing????

You're at the casino playing a quarter slot machine. You have a bucket of quarters that you're using to feed the machine. You've been playing for an hour and haven't really hit anything big. You're friend comes over to ask how its going. You explain that you haven't been very lucky. So your friend reaches into your bucket, grabs one of your quarters, puts it into the machine you've been playing and it hits for $250,000.

What do you do? Keep all the winnings for yourself? Split it with your friend? Give your friends a small portion? Give the whole thing to your friend?

I've read about card counting and i see why it could give you an advantage but the dealer can just shuffle the cards and you wont know whats gonna come out anymore... i dont get how people say you'll know if the deck is rich is 10's and Aces because if the deck is shuffled every round, it wont matter. i hope im making sense here. can someone please explain?

I fully understand the mechanics of the game, where I struggle is knowing how/when to bet. I would appreciate any thoughts on the following questions as well as any other info you care to provide.

What kind of hand is worth staying in to see the flop? Roughly what percentage of hands would you fold before the flop? I realize sometimes you have to stay in with bad hole cards so other players don't fold if you start betting.

When you stay in, how often would you just check on the blinds, how often would you call, how often would you raise? To what extent is this dictated by your cards?

After the flop, what kind of hand should you have to stay in? Would you ever stay in with nothing after the flop? Only with a made hand? What about betting strategies?

Same questions for the turn and the river.

Thanks in advance for any insight.
