I have been keeping track of the most frequently played numbers for the Powerball for a couple of months now. Do I have a greater chance of winning if I pick from those numbers I notice are most frequently drawn or do I stand a better chance with just buying a quick pick? I don't understand.......how do people win this thing????

The reason people win this thing is because so many people play. You are better off, mathematically speaking, to choose a set of numbers and stick with it - the quick pick numbers win about once every six months. The odds are about 150 million to one to win the big jackpot, so unless at least 150 million number combinations are drawn, there is still a chance that NO ONE will win. There are "trends", but even they are random and can change at any time.

Safe? Well you won't get electrocuted! There are ZERO websites that can legally sell PowerBall tickets on-line. Therefore, ANYONE who is selling you a PowerBall ticket on-line is probably scamming you! Here's the thing - I'll bet most sites would probably pay out all of their small prizes to the ticket holders. That way they can stay up and running for a while. As soon as someone hits a $100,000 prize or better, I'll bet these sites fold up and run with the money. Why wouldn't they?!? They aren't legal anyway!

It's all random and complete luck for the people who win. I wish you could track the numbers that come in most often and win, but that won't happen. Each number has the same chance of being picked as the next number does.
