i was asked to fill an application to identify my self & to scan any id like my passport so i will get money within 48 hrs from the bank. so they are asking me for nothing in return so sure it's a scam but why they do this ?? do they take advntage of any of the relevant information like my name, adress.. & misuse it?

~~*~~ I got this once. Do NOT send them any information! If they selected your address then proving your identity makes no sense. You have no way of knowing where this mail came from or where the information will be going. Don't help them steal your identity!!

Of course its a scam.
Always remember that 99.999999% of the things you get in email are not true. This is how it will work. You will fill out the info and send it back. This will let them know they have a gullible sucker. Then they will tell you that the have now verified who you are and they can instantly send the money to your bank account. You will give them the account number and routing number. You will wake up the next day and all your money will be gone.

If you apply for a lottery AFTER you win then something is definitely fishy. Did you even buy a lottery ticket or enter the contest in any way? If there are any fees associated with this then it is almost certainly a scam.
