Looking into some "abstract" strategy games. I want something that really uses your brain and not mere luck. (If it had a sci-fi/alien theme that would be great too but I guess then it wouldn't be abstract. And all the sci-fi games I've seen are battle-based, and therefore more luck based?) I'm thinking about Zertz or Hive, what do you think?

Can you think of a new board game for myself and my family to play after Christmas lunch.
We already have the traditional games such as Monopoly, Cluedo etc; We have the brilliant 'Balderdash' and all enjoy that but it would be nice to have something a little different. Try and keep it clean as some of my relations are bordering on the elderly side!!!

Hi, I want to get a copy of the board game "221b Baker Street" before Sunday as it's a present for someone for Christmas and I'm leaving on Saturday! I live in North London and wondered if anyone happens to know who stocks this game in the area. I'd buy from Amazon, but think I'm too late for the last post! Any advice greatfully appreciated. The game is afoot!

You are playing Monopoly and are on the Old Kent Road. When it is your turn you throw 12, followed by 10, followed by 2. Where is your location after this?

I'm thinking about designing a board game, what I'd like to know is: how can I order some random wooden or plastic game pieces for planning the game...

Links please.

It's a 1 bedroom flat and it does have one small gas heater in each room but he is also on a small budget and prefers to use these as little as possible. He wears a bobble hat at night to keep warm in bed. The flat has double glazing but it gathers condensation which suggests to me that the seals on the windows have gone. Am I right?

My son is 12 and totally into the whole Heroscape thing. He wants to start making custom pieces to add to his collection, but neither of us has any idea where to get figures to convert into heroes. Does any one have any suggestions? How would we go about printing cards to go with the custom characters? He wants to make pieces that will fit in with the others easily. Thanks!

We were playing the game Balderdash last night & this situation came up but wasn't listed in the rules.

The answer to a "What is this Law?" question was Limberger cheese. One player wrote down the answer - cheese. The reader counted that as a correct and took that players card out of the pile, which we all agreed on since that is a similar answer.

That player doesn't vote but automatically gets 3 points for writing down the correct answer to begin with. Then when others vote for what they think is the correct answer, 3 players voted for Limberger cheese. Should the player who wrote cheese and had the automatic 3 points for writing the correct answer get 3 more points for the people who voted for Limberger cheese or not?

I don't want you opinion on this matter. I want the real rules. Our rules that came with our game just stated that the writer gets 3 points, their card is taken out, and doesn't vote. It doesn't elaborate on if they get points for the others' votes or not.

Looking for a good strategy board game for Christmas for my husband. Something that I might like too. Something that won't take 4 hours to play. 60-90 minutes okay. It can be a fantasy theme, sci-fi, or just have shapes and colors. What do you recommend? And it needs to be $30 or less. (I've been seeing some of those games run $50 and that's more than I want to spend!) Thanks! By the way, a couple I've considered so far are, Ingenius and Nexus Ops and Cosmic Encounter. What do you think? (Oh, and Risk is out of the question because one of our friends owns it already and we play it with them)

My grandmother liked a game called Michigan Kitty. I still have the game board and a tin that had round chips that I think were used to play the game. I can't find any info on the Net about the game. I only find info about Michigan Rummy and Tripoli. But although those games may be similar, I don't think they are what I am looking far. Does anyone know how to play Michigan Kitty or where I can find the info on the Internet?
