Microsoft runs no lottery of any kind.

You may have read an e-mail or visited a website that is perpetuating a very old and tired Internet Hoax.

Reccommend visiting Snopes.com for more info on bogus "prize" or "lottery" scams.

Try searching www.snopes.com. It is an urban legend website that you may be able to find the answer at or at least ask them about it. I would guess, though, that this is some kind of scam that has been set up by a different party. It would not be in Microsoft's best interests to be running such a thing.
