Well, I just came onto the drinking scene and I want some of your tips! I find myself being into sweet/fruity drinks like midori sours, apple martinis, lemon drops.. that being said, I was wondering if you girls/guys knew any other drinks I might be into? I am sure my ladies can be of more help here! Well, I am going out wednesday night so I'm excited to try out your suggestions. Thanks loves!

I am planning a romantic dinner and I need help in choosing a wine. I am not much of a wine drinker and neither is she. I do not know much about the flavors and textures of wine and how they compliment a meal. I did some google searches and gave me some insight but not enough to choose a wine. Here is my main course...

Braised Short Ribs

3 1/2 to 4 lbs beef short ribs (trimmed of fat)
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes (undrained)
1/2 cup beef broth
1/2 cup Zinfandel Wine or Cranberry Juice
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup hot chili sauce (or to taste)
1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon McCormick garlic - pepper blend
2 cups ready to eat baby carrots
1 medium onion (halved, thinly sliced)
salt and pepper to taste

Any suggestions?

In america, most people only know about our own anheuser-busch budweiser, but I know that the original budweiser is brewed by budvar in the czech republic. I also know that the UK is one of the only countries where a lawsuit wasn't enforced to make one or the other change their name. So theres two budweisers in the UK. With the czech brand obviously being a 1000 times better, does anyone in the UK drink the american budweiser?

The majority of our troops in Iraq are 18, 19, and 20 year-olds. Are they really mature enough to be handed an AK47, but not mature enough to drink?

... at too low a temperature? I find when I do drink white wine, yes, I do once in awhile, that it is too cold and the qualities and aspects of the wine are muted.... I remember when I was young, my friends and I always kept beer in the freezer for awhile before we drank it to have it as cold as possible. But I realize now that was a mistake... I think most North Americans drink their beer at too low a temperature to truly appreciate the taste. Hence the proliferation of so-called beers with "no aftertaste". If you don't like the beer to have aftertaste, you probably don't really like the taste of beer. What do you think, Sparky?

I'm not a wino.. It is just a MD is good wine all in all, and cheap, and no hangover. Nothing like a joint on the beach, and a bottle of Mad Dog to get a party started, and make lots of friends. It isn't as raunchy as Thunderbird or Night Train, but I like Night Train, too. They even have an orange flavor for 20/20 now that tastes like screwdriver. Any problems with it?... So, to hell with any other form of booze.
I have an idea for a "cheap wine" tasting party... and everyone can get sloshed, cheap, and is the whole point of drinking, anyway..

I need help. I don't like champagne... Now, I love some mamosa's, but that's a different story. Anyway, I need help deciding what kind of champagne to buy for my toast. I have approx. 100 guests and I don't want to spend a fortune, so if there is a decent kind for around $15 a bottle I would be thrilled.

We're young (late 20's) and we like to have a good time so a really random idea passed through my head. What do you think about a Tequila Toast instead?? I know it sounds different but is it completely rediculous?? Of course there will be a handful of people that won't want tequila but I can have back up champagne... Who knows, just let me know your thoughts, good or bad!! Thanks!!

Recently at a party a colleauge was drinking a glass of wine and telling anyone who would listen about it.He said the nose which was spicy which reminded him of a recent trip to spice a market in india and when he drank some he fought he had gone to heaven, vanilla exploded onto his taste buds, all the while holding the glass up to the light and rolling the wine around the glass,he added that he supected the grapes where grown on a coastal facing slope. At the time i was quite impressed with his knowledge as where the others, quite a crowd had gathered.
But now i look back at it i wonder was he just being a bit silly?
