I need to learn how to drink beer because I'm going on college exchange to England. I usually detest the taste of beer, and I usually drink hard vodka/wisky and other types of cocktails. How do I learn to like the taste of beer (in large quantities) or will I never if I don't like it now??

Serious answers only please!

I've only tried B.C. Ehrenfelser. Although I've enjoyed them, I would like to try some from other regions. I've head that Oregon produces some.

There seems to be a market fallout here. Perhaps it has something to do with VAT being added! How can anyone believe that homebrew beer is a luxury item requiring VAT added! I remember the days when homebrew beer was the cheapest on the market. Not these days.....

I quit drinking years ago, but I'm curious lately what the different forms of alcohol are derived from.
I know that
Wine comes from grapes
Beer is from barley
Vodka is from potatoes
Rum is from sugarcane

However, I've been curious about the others such as whiskey, burbon, scotch, brandy, martini as well as others you can think of that I may have missed.
The most informative answer will recieve my vote.
