Was it the wine, the company, the food, the occasion or just a mood thing?

My husband and I went to a little winery in the country, We tested all their wines. They had different foods to try the wines with. Like fruit, cheese, crackers, chocolate. We would smell them, then swish, we didn't spit though. We drank them. The coolest thing was called a shootin' blanc. They put chilled sauvignon blanc in a cold shot glass with a sweet hot pepper. Very good! Then we got a tour of the winery, and to finish it off, we shared a bottle of wine outside at sunset.

I'm glad you asked this, it makes me think about some things I needed to think about.

I saw this bottle of wine called Rosa Regale on Simply Wine and it just looked so good I went to the wine store and I ordered a bottle of it. Andrea suggested that you enjoy a nice dark chocolate with the wine. I waited a week for my bottle of wine. I brought it home and chilled it well. I lit my candles and my fireplace and my husband and I sat in front of the fire sipping wine and eating chocolate. That wine was worth the weeks wait to get it because the combo of the sweet raspberry flavor from the wine and the chocolate was like a little bit of heaven in my mouth!I went back to the store and bought the rest of the case!

It was champagne at a very fancy party - the champagne came from a vault and was aged -- from the 1930s? It tasted like almonds, as I recall, something like that. By the time I got around to asking about the type, name, year, etc. they had cleared it away and were serving something else, it all got lost in the whirl. But I'll always remember drinking it and being completely amazed.
