In an intimate friendship environment, friends may have expectations from you, which are not easy for you to fulfill. At the same time rejecting this kind of expectations might harm your relationship. For example consider that your buddy expects you to call him/her regularly everyday or week, or inviting them to all your parties and activities. What would you do in these situations?

i have this friend that ive been friends with for almost 2 years and when i first met her we hated eachother but then after awhile we started hanging out then when summer came she got me doing stuff id never done before like smoke weed drink and smoke ciggs and kinda go out with guys and we became best bestfriends and then when we went back to school we were still kinda doing that stuff but then we got caught (evan longer story) but anyway after school got out she really changed alot we dont talk that much she treats me even more like sh*t and all she concerned about is her boyfriend...but she forgot whenever she needed help i was there for her..i used to buy her cigg's let her use my other cell phone let her take home MY straightener and watched her neice and nephew while her and her sister went to easton...i want my friend back the old friend that i used to be able to talk to but now she's a b**ch but i love her so much that i dont want to leave her .Does any1 know what i should do?

Where is the line drawn between acting friendly and flirting? And since when did laughing at jokes and having a sense of humor count as flirting?

Please help. My friends say that I "string along" guys. I myself have also noticed that most of my male companions have thought that I had a crush on them, and so tried to "date" me when we first met. It's really awkward to be so misunderstood. I just want some normal guy friends who I can joke with and confide in, as I do with my female friends; is this too much to ask? I'm asking this now because I have just moved to a new area recently, and I don't want to keep repeating the same mistake (though it may be already too late to avoid...).

And meanwhile, while we're on the subject, how do you tell someone that you just want to be friends in a nice and non-awkward way?

hi,

this is about this nice girl working in my company. well we both work in different departments but we get to meet when we take the lifts. she looks downto earth and nice person,not georgeous(but i like her). when i try to look into her eyes to tell her that i like her,shes the kinda person im looking for. shes not even looking at me shes looking the floor. does that mean that shes not intrested in me?? i dont understand this response which she gives me.

I tend to be told that I flirt a lot. I am one of those types that flirts without realizing it. I dont notice until I am told I flirt tooooooo much. I like this guy but he's not ready for a relationship and I want to just be friends in respect for him but I dont know how to tone down my flirting because i dont know when im doing it. so how do i learn to realize it and tone it down?

I have a friend, who intentionally bought same necklace as mine to give another person she knows i wouldn't want to have same stuff with. what do u think i should do with the necklace? I love the necklace, bec it fits me so good. and i was thinking of throwing it away, but everytime i looked at it, i still find it beautiful, but i know i cannot keep it bec it makes me mad at my friend and makes me feel gross for having same stuff like that other person.
whats the best thing to do? I am in a dilemma....

Maybe I'm overreacting this girl I work with tries to dominate everything that goes on in all her coworker's lives. Girl #2's mother just died last year, her daughter is sick (not dying) and she just got divorced from a real jerk. So she is really susceptable to this kind of domineering behavior from the psycho. #2 is very naive and too trusting of people. I feel really bad for girl #2 because of the bad things that have happened to her. I thing Psycho has gotten into her personal life too much and is trying to live her life through the other girl's. I got scared for #2 because one of our mutual friends was concerned that psycho is trying to be her. I had noticed it too, Psycho has no girlfriends even though we are friendly to her. What set me off is my father is dying and she has never once volunteered to help me out with anything, but when Girl #2's mother died she practically bent over backwards to help her even paying for the funeral flowers with her own money!
