A friend of mine took her child to a stylist, and during the visit, an article of clothing was ruined by chemicals that had been left from the previous client. This stylist is also a friend, but did not offer to pay for the error. How would you approach this?

I had the same thing happen, but at a restaurant. I got red cabbage on my new white jeans. I went back to the place and brought the jeans with me and showed them the stain that I couldn't get out. They tried to have it dry cleaned and finally replaced the jeans.
Even if she is a friend, she should have cleaned her station before the next client. I would have her replace the item. It is her responsibility and she was negligent.

I wouldn't let it go! I f they are friends, I would talk to the stylist myself and tell her that article of clothing is the child's favorite or something and would she please replace it? Any good friend would. If she doesn't, then go to her superior. Being on your feet all day is no excuse to be careless.

If they've been friends, they should be able to talk about it. But like it's been said before, it's not worth losing a friend over. accidents happen. forgiving is a great virtue.

I would just forget about it. Accidents happen and hairstylists are very busy people and are on their feet all day long. It's not like she meant to do it.

Let it go. Friendships are more expensive than clothes.
