Television - 13 February 2007

They say American Idol is Live, but is all of it really live? They have a thing at the very end where if you read it, it says parts of it have been edited which gets me to wondering if it is really live like they say....then I get to wondering even further if it is even worth voting and if our votes really count. Any thoughts??

I've been watching her talk show since it started and I get more disgusted everytime I watch it. Why does she portray white people as being the bad ones? She has prostitutes, drug addicts, anorexics, etc... on her show and they are white, and she will make them look like they are the worst people on the face of the earth. But meanwhile she will have the same issues for colored people and she takes nothing but pity for them. One episode that sticks out in mind was when there was a colored girl who felt like she was a white person inside. Instead of saying she was a beautiful, smart woman,Tyra kept telling her she was a beautiful black girl and she should be proud of who she is. Does anyone else notice this? There is no doubt in my mind that she is just continuously opening a can of worms. And what's the point of her dressing up as an obese woman, stripper, and whatever else it was? What point did she prove? She certainly hasn't done nothing to solve the issues that she has on her show.

I don't remember much of it other than it was about 5 or so kids that had powers. I believe it came on NBC. It aired in the late 80's. There was a black guy who could shrink. In one episode he shrunk down to the size of a doll and the clothes he was given to wear were that of a Michael Jackson red suit. There was a white guy who could do something with electricity. I don't remember what the girl could do nor do I remember the other kids. They were around 14, 15, and 16 years old. If anyone remembers this show please let me know. I want to say it was Sci something.

real or fiction that have stuck with you. I'm not an avid star trek fan but i remember an episode where captain Pikard was lost for ideas on how to save data from being dismantled, when guyian mentioned something about a 'race of disposable people'. One of my favourite episodes.

Does anyone know who & what the music was that Paul Mckenna played whilst he was hypnotising the blind guy on his tv programme last week?
It's a twangy, atmospheric guitar piece & was also used on the "Sailor" series when the helicopters were taking off. I'm sure it must be well known but I'e been trying to find out for 20 years!
