Comedy series about a rehabilitation clinic?

Im searching for a Comedy series about a rehabilitation clinic.
I believe its made in the late ninetees, early 00's.
The main character used to be an actriess, she's addicted to booze and men.
Her roommate/best friend is a lesbian girl.
Her mother has also been an actress.
The lesbian girl dies later in the season.
I guess it's an US comedy.
I hope someone can tell me what's the name of the show (instead of make stupid remarks just to score some points....)

It was on late 50's early 60's. A puppet show about a cowboy, think he wore glasses. I remember one feather enabled him to understand what his horse was saying. What did the other 3 feathers do? Hope you can help, my friends old enough to remember it are joining me in a senior moment over this!

There have been a number complaints to OFCOM (the UK TV regulatory body) that Shilpa Shetty has been the target of racism because the other house mates have mimicked her accent, and refered to her as "the Indian".

I am from Newcastle and have a strong North East accent - which is regularly mimicked by work colleages, customers and random people I meet in the pub. I'm often referred to as "Geordie" despite my name being Mark. Exactly the same treatment Shilpa has been on the receiving end of.

I don't consider this racist - it's just banter, so back to my origional question - are the BB celebs being racist?
