As child in the late 60's and up, I LOVED watchin STAR TREK. Though I've never went head over heels, and did the whole outfit, and go to the conventions *thing*, I think I represent the majority of the U.S. who holds a very kind and high regard for the entire chain of shows and motion pictures. They stretched our imaginations, and made us think about otherwise grim and serious matters in a wonderfully light and entertaining way.I mean without star trek..would there have been a star wars? (something to debate). But i'm certain that THE FUTURE of star trek is secure, we'll always have the reruns, the knock off series, and the motion pictures. And as they age, and become more dated, rest assured, there WILL BE more knock offs, and more movies. GUARANTEED! ..now, as far as what the story lines will be? that will be up to that person writing it in the year 2050. :)
