Why do so many people on Y/A care what we think about the way they look?

I can't stand to see that question:

How do I look?
Rate my pic?
Am I good Looking?

Why would someone care what a bunch of people they don't know and probably never will know think about the way they look?

I bought my parents tickets to HAWAII.?

I bought my parents tickets to hawaii in june. I am going to tell them today, and let them know i am 16 years old as well.

Any special way to tell them, or just tell them upfront?

Why don't you people have a 360...?

Let's get with the program people........

(Okay, I'm just sad b/c hardly any of my contacts have 360's and I just made one yesterday, but it's totally no fun unless you actually know other people with 360's.. You would cry too if it happened to you (thanks for that one Cyndi Lauper).)

Which cities or states would fit me best?

Here are my criteria:
1. Whatever it takes to have mild or "not cold" winters. I hate it when the temp dips below 30 degrees (F).
2. Relatively low cost of living in order to have a great quality of life (apts. $700 or less/mo.)
3. Amiable and easy-going people, EASY TO MAKE FRIENDS!
4. Plenty of beautiful, single twenty-something girls
5. Free art galleries, diverse music scene, many ethnic restaurants, eccentric neighborhoods
5. Close to great recreational opportunities (hiking, biking, boating, etc.)

My top picks are:
-Austin
-Ft. Worth
-Houston
-Atlanta
-Charlotte
-Seattle
-Portland, OR

I've heard mostly good things about these cities, and I've been to the first four and like them a lot. Of course, I'm open to other options, otherwise I wouldn't be asking this. I currently live in Kentucky, very little to offer to college grads and in the way of the singles scene, plus people can be closed and unfriendly; I know I wouldn't miss it!
