All the time. I wonder how people can deal with problems we only dream about. It's sad, especially this time of year.

Oh yes Tina...we are blessed...I remember 1 yr I went to the mall...I always pick a child from the tree...well there on the tree was a woman in her 80's...she wanted only 1 thing for Christmas...a blanket! Oh I was so touched..I went and got her the works! I hope she is alive and well and enjoying those items..wish I could help everyone!
It really must be awfl..and everytime I see that my heart aches also...and I say why in the USA is this happening...most of our homeless were in vietnam, I saw that on 60 min. and many others have mental problems, but since they have no insurance or money, they are thrown in the streets. Sad is not even close to how all that really makes me feel.

Although being homeless is a terrible thing you also have to think that a lot of the people who si on the streets all day are drug addicts looking for money for their next fix.
Some people with perfectly good homes also sit on the streets and take money that the homeless should be getting.
There are obviously reasons why some of these people have ended up on the streets, some through no fault of their own but for the people who sincerely need help and have done nothing wrong i do feel for them.

I don't ever really think about it, but when you asked that question, my heart began to ache for them also. I am sure it is unbearable and now that I think about it, i feel a little guilty yet very fortunate at the same time. I feel guilty because I know that I will be warm and have something to eat and people who love me to go home to tonight, I feel very fortunate for those things as well...... (very sad)

I'm sure it is unbearable. Do what we do, we volunteer at local homeless shelters. Give food to the homeless that live in the park. Stuff like that. We even had a homeless person stay at our home for a few months.

Yes, I feel horrible for them, there was a homeless man sleeping in my kids doctors office the other day. Thankfully the girls at the front allowed him in from the cold. I so badly wanted to invite him home with me but I have little kids and talked myself out of it. It's not fair though that some people get things that others can't have. Society is just screwed up.

Yes, it use to bother me all the time until I found out that many do not want to be helped. Believe it or not, there are many that like their way of life.
There are shelters and free food for the street people and they all know exactly where to go for both.
The street people who want a better way of life soon find a way out of their situation.
Please keep them in your prays for good health.
One group that needs your prays and help are mothers with children whose husbands have deserted them. Most have no money and sometimes lose their homes. They need good jobs and someone to watch their children while they are at work.

I DO feel sorry for them but many choice the streets
rather than shelters.. here in Toronto we have a street patrol that goes around more so when the temp drops below the freezing mark & makes sure they have blankets, warm food, gloves & coats...again they have an option to be taken to a shelter but many decline....

It's a big deal in Calgary, since our booming economy has attracted people from all over. Our homeless population has at least doubled in a few years. And many homeless are actually the working poor. It is hard to afford a place to live in our hot economy.
Shelters are overflowing. Thank heavens we are in a mild spell right now. When it gets to be 30 below, look out!

I'm only a stones throw away from that, however, I have family and friends and a church that would take me in. There are many people in that situation because, ultimately, they don't choose to leave it. Although Mickey D's doesn't pay much, it pays enough to get an efficiency, you get warm meals, and you can actually receive government assistance (from a stable address). A lot of them like the freedom, just not the cold.

I was freezing inside my house, and I just can't imagine ppl without any warm clothsings out there 24/7. Nothing just can cure the heart ache then to go out there yourself!!!
