Here are my criteria:
1. Whatever it takes to have mild or "not cold" winters. I hate it when the temp dips below 30 degrees (F).
2. Relatively low cost of living in order to have a great quality of life (apts. $700 or less/mo.)
3. Amiable and easy-going people, EASY TO MAKE FRIENDS!
4. Plenty of beautiful, single twenty-something girls
5. Free art galleries, diverse music scene, many ethnic restaurants, eccentric neighborhoods
5. Close to great recreational opportunities (hiking, biking, boating, etc.)

My top picks are:
-Austin
-Ft. Worth
-Houston
-Atlanta
-Charlotte
-Seattle
-Portland, OR

I've heard mostly good things about these cities, and I've been to the first four and like them a lot. Of course, I'm open to other options, otherwise I wouldn't be asking this. I currently live in Kentucky, very little to offer to college grads and in the way of the singles scene, plus people can be closed and unfriendly; I know I wouldn't miss it!

Thank you!

Of the cities I know Austin or Portland. If you want too be more ambitious, and put up was a little cold, Brooklyn has more bright beautiful 20 something girls than anywhere on earth - and I'm too old and too married to do anything about it. Someone should take advantage of the situation.

Excuse Me! I lived in KY most of my life and I am very friendly and the ppl are too -- whenever I moved to Ohio the ppl here wasn't so friendly. What part of KY? I lived in Louisville so there was plenty to do and see and to offer. But hey good luck somewhere else, But I don't recommend Ohio or New York.

I have lived in many places including Kentucky and Texas my suggestion is a smaller town outside of Houston. pick one close to the gulf cheap to live in and with Houston in close range. You can rent a house for under 500. and by shrimp for 1.99 a lb.
