This is what happened:

I'm at the checkout of the grocery store... Ditzy lady in front of me (she'd just paid for all her groceries and stuff) gets distracted and starts talking to someone she knows and bumped into, finishes convo, wanders off and goes to look through other stores completely forgetting about her trolley full of expensive looking things. Whilst my friend is paying for our groceries, I chased after her with her trolley.

I caught up with her and said "excuse me, is this your trolley?" she says "uh, yes it is" (her tone of voice was that she seemed pissed off that I disturbed her window shopping) so I said "well, you left it back at the grocery store" she just looked at me with a cold expression and says "oh ok"

It was like a slap in the face... I should have walked off with her trolley, shouldn't I???

There was no mistake, she didn't leave it there on purpose, she just forgot about it.

next time I might not be so nice.
