I never really got what the big deal was with Zeppelin...until I got a cd of their greatest hits. I liked Stairway to Heaven like everyone else, and thought It would be good to listen to while driving from the Bay Area, CA. to Sacramento to visit friends. I would drive from 12am to like 3am or whatever on shrooms whenever I drive up. Yes, I know that is bad, and I now realize it was a dumb thing to do.

Finally I listened to them on on my trip north, and I must say that "I totally understand them now!". I forget which song it was, but by chance the sun was setting in the same direction I-5 was heading, which made it seem that I was chasing the sun. That lyrics was something about chasing the sun or something and it was this experience that opened mind to them. Now whats the deal with The Grateful Dead.

What are your fave bands to listen to when you're "you know what"? What are your runner ups and why?

Yeah, Paul totally deserves it & Paul is my fave, but I do think the whole band oughta have it too. It was *The Beatles*, man. It would not've been the same w/o each member: John, Paul, George & Ringo.

(yes, I know it's all just symbolic, but..)

There is this rock song that sounds like it's from the 1960's-70's but I'm not sure. A woman sings it and it starts off slow and ends very powerfully. There is a line that includes "and the red queen..." I'm sorry this is all I remember, cause I haven't heard it in a while, but once they played it in a record store and most of the people sang along with it, so it's popular. Please help! This song haunts me and I don't know where to turn! Thanks!!!

Ok, so I know this song is not a remake, but it definitely sounds like another (older) song that came out by another band. Unfortunately I can't remember what it is. Everytime I try to hum it to myself, I almost get it and then "Delilah" screws me up! The melody is really similar and even the way the guy sings it is almost the same!
Anybody else hearing that?
Anyone have a clue?

It's driving me crazy!

right now im really into bmth but my favorites of all time are blink 128 and bright eyes.

i loved blink182 since i was in fourth grade and their music is so good and they are really funny live.

and bright eyes has amazing lyrics and conor oberst is a great person (vegan, humanitarian, poet).

it kind of sounds like the beginning of the Bad Company's song "Bad Company", and in a way like the Zombies' song "time of the season"...but it is buggin the sh*t out of me... i heard it a long time ago in the early 90's and believe it is from the late 60's early 70's. But i could be wrong. Some of the lyrics are ..."because i love youuuuuu...ohhhhhh...i love youuuuuu....." i know that probably does not help much.. and it is a bit of a slower song....not too much rock in it...it is more of a soft rock/ early classic rock song......but if you have any clue...PLZ let me know...thanx

I've been playing violin for four years (im 12 now) and lately i really dont like the music. I want to play some rock or pop but something besides classical, fiddle, country. My teacher loves all that stuff and shes the only one around really. I was thinking about getting a electric violin, but id still need some good music. My brother plays the electric guitar and he plays ACDC Led Zepplin and really cool songs like that that I want to play. My mom still wants me to play violin and im not a guitar player for sure. IM SO CONFUSED!!! He does really cool songs like the immigrant song, the pepsi songs and teh black eyed peas.
