I've been trying to figure this one out for a LOOOOOONG time now! There's an oldies song that I THINK the lyrics have somewhere in them something like this:

"Oh no you can't get up, if you can't get down, A-BIP-BOP-BIP-BOP-GET AROUND"

Or something like that... It kinda sounds like "Devil With a Blue Dress On" in style. My parents and I can only remember that very line, and that line is probably wrong, but we KNOW it is a real song and we can SING that line! I've searched and searched, but can't find it! It's been driving us nuts for months! Please help!

I know i'm going out on a limb...but I was shopping today and heard this song in the dressing room. I meant to ask who it was, but completely forgot when I went to pay. Anyway, if I can remember, it sounded kind of dark and moody, a little "dance-y" and had a woman's voice if I can remember. I kept trying to hear the lyrics so I could do a lyrics search, and I think I got "You can look but you can't touch" or "You can look but don't you touch" or something along those lines...is this ringing ANY bells at all? It was a great song and it's driving me crazy! :/

If you bought both which did you like better?

I bought both albums. I give Curtis a C+. It was better than The Massacre, the beats were banging but as usual 50 feels the need to sell out with these lovey dovey tracks. He did not need to do that. His "hard" material would have sufficed. In any case, it's a step up from The Massacre but still light years away from Get Rich Or Die Trying.

I will give Graduation an A-. I'm glad I listened to it after I heard Curtis. Kanye makes concept albums and proceeds to re-invent himself once again. Pop this album in the deck and listen straight through. It is that good.

I listened to Kanye's new cd and with this being his 3rd I would say he has put out consistently good material. He can rhyme and the only producer i have ever heard who is better as far ar rhyming and making CD's is Dre. Just wanted some feedback from other hip hop fans.

I'm not talking about being major or anything.I just wan't to record some tracks and get one mixtape out just one and see the reaction and i'll take it from there.The reason I ask this is because I see all these people falling in love with soulja boys music.What I write Is not your average bling,money,hoes. and I'm def not a dance or snap type either.What I write and what I could bring is Real life storys and real music and real lyrics.I'm just afraid I'll fail because the type of hip hop I write I guess I think if people get into that soulja boy type of music nobody will even want to listen to the type of thing I want to bring.I wan't to bring a positive vibe but then again I'm writing about real life storys and everything I write is real and sometimes real life lyrics aren't clean because they are my thoughts,what I have lived,I write to vent my anger,feelings etc...But why would anyone wan't to listen to that real if everyones into that gangsta and dance **** now?

When a band plays live, do they nessecarily use the same FX gear that they would have used when recording the album? I do some recording and I'm trying to get that Deftones, Incubus type Fuzz/Distortion. They probably use lots of single stomp pedals right? If so then is that what they would have used in the studio, or do good studios have an ultimate/secret guitar fx processor that would just make these pedals look bad? Money is not an object in this.
