He is the best producer behind the mic because Dre doesnt write his own rhymes...MANY MANY MANY other talented cats do that for him...but Kanye writes all his own material plus produces as well so Kanye wins!!

Kanye and Dre are the by far the best producer/rappers. Pete Rock was good back in the day, but didn't do it that much. The RZA from Wu tang is pretty good too. And whoever said Timbaland is better than Kanye doesn't like music. Timbaland chants chorus... he doesnt rap.

yeah that would be pretty fair.. but see the thing is.. kanye is a better rapper (not that he is great) but Dre is a better producer... every Kanye west song has a sample.. kanye cant start a beat off from scratch! dre does that all day! kanye west takes a lot of other peoples lines and soooooooooooo many jay z lyrics and just kinda flipps them around but, essensually is biting jay z .. and well dr. dre... he doesnt rap... he has always bought lyrics.. back in the day it was ice cube ghostwriting for him.. Eminem did a bit.. but his official Ghostwriter is Jay Z. .. so i mean its hard to tell... but ill go with jay z's own answer when asked who his favorite producer was "the one an only, all time greatest, Dr. Dre!"
even if kanye is jay's artist he still keeps it real.

Kanye is a mad producer, with "The Blueprint" being his masterpiece, but his rhyming skills is just as good, if not better. Remember, Kanye was a rapper before he turned to producing. But either way you look at it, he's sweet. And yes, he is the only producer who can compete with Dre on spitting and producing

I have a friend in the bay area who is a producer. It is all a crap shoot, you have to find out what the artist is into and what the public is calling for, but you always want to be on the cutting edge and hot. The question is where will Timberland be in two years. As a producer you need the ear and inovation to lead the artist to new heights.
I think Dre is a great producer but is getting old and out of touch with todays music. He has his brass ring now it is time for others.

I'm willing to agree that Kanye should be considered an extremely prolific producer and will evolve in time as the best next to Dre. I like Obie Trice/Green Lantern also but haven't heard from him in a long time.

The problem with giving Kanye that much power is that he is still too immature to do more than one thing. He is good at what he does but he needs to realize that you can't have everything in the world no matter how good for a performer/artist you are. He's always crying about everything. If he doesn't win or if people don't pay all their attention to him. What is this gym class??!!! GROW UP KANYE!

sell. i don't even have Dre in my actual 10 (i might located him at 11 however). motives? appropriate, there are 10 diverse manufacturers i think of of contain extra desirable appropriate than Dre and have presented extra desirable to hip hop than he has. He hasn't somewhat innovated some thing (in spite of the extremely undeniable reality that he gets somewhat some credit that i've got have been given self belief could rightfully be Muggs'), he hasn't been as influential as yet another manufacturers and, in spite of the extremely undeniable reality that a sturdy Dre beat could be a perfect element, there is somewhat some meh in his production catalogue. i think of of the meh outweighs the wow. there is likewise the difficulty of him taking somewhat some credit for matters he did not somewhat do. Preemo is GOAT producer. i've got have been given yet to hearken to a controversy that could convince me in any different case.

Id put Timberlin in front of him. Hes on everything and all of it is good. Cant forget P ditty either. Personally I dont care much for his rappin but his early stuff was extremely popular with Biggie and Mace and others.
