I'm sure everybody remembers when all those people bashed the Dixie Chicks for what they said about Bush at their concert a while back. That was really messed up! But I think half the US now feels like they did about Bush and probably now agrees with them about him. Do you think so??

No, everybody in the US did NOT vote for Bush! I know alot of people who didn't. I thought for SURE that he wouldn't be elected, but SOMEHOW he was. The people who voted for him should wish they had never did that, in my and alot of others opinions.

You "Bush supporters" have lost your minds. I am proud to be American too. But if Bush has done such a great job then why is half of America turning on him?? That should tell something about him, you think? Anyway, the Bush discussion is over. It's a waste of breath.

Natalie was right. I knew it then.

I disagree with an above poster: we do have the right to comment on what we believe is wrong with our government. Isn't that what we have the Bill of Rights for? Bush does not believe he was wrong. AND I don't believe we really elected him.

I think anyone who now agrees with her should offer an apology.

I still hold a grudge againts Natalie for what she said and it was her fault that the Dixie Chicks won't ever be liked again by most Americans. I highly disagree, Bush is an AMAZING leader!

I agree with Natalie. Bush should have never went to war with Iraq and I believe he done so because he wanted to show American citizens that he could get Saddam and make him pay for his crimes......something that his father didn't do while he was in office.

Bin Laden was responsible for 9/11 and Bush went to war with Iraq. Bin Laden was in Pakistan why not go to war there first. I believe that Bin Laden is dead though and his body will never be found because he died in a cave.

Dixie Chicks exercised their constitutional right to free speech. You don't have to agree with them, you just have to agree to their right to speak their mind. I don't care who it is, you can say what you like as long as you aren't swearing or yelling. George Bush is doing what he is told to do like very other president, anyone who thinks he is running the country has a very ill-informed mind. He is the figurehead for a group of businessmen who paid for him to be elected. He is not a bad person, just another politician. If you want to elect someone to run the country then ban political donations by private individuals, then you might get a leader.

I don't think you should bash the President, it is a respectful position. There are so many people who would love to live in the US and Natalie Maines bashes the President and is ashamed to be from the same state?? Really, there are child molesters, and she is ashamed of George Bush??

I don't know about the US, but here in the UK a lot of us did and still do agree with what Natalie Maines said.

For their fans to react the way they did ~ smashing their albums, etc. ~ seems extreamly petty to me.

Edit:

"a country should back their president as the president, we voted him in"

So, you are saying that EVERY voter in the US voted for Bush?

I can tell you that here in the UK, a heck of a lot of us didn't vote for Labour.

As such, those of us who did NOT elect the person / party in power have every right not to back them publicly.

As a American I was disgusted, they could of said that they disagree with him, No they had to bash him to the point where He should have sued them.......GOD BLESS GEORGE BUSH.

You know, it says something for a band when their greatest claim to fame is controversy. I don't think i would want to go down in the history books for this story, i would want to let my songs and talent speak for me. It is a sad day when Fame is gotten this way.

Everyone's intitled to their opinion and I think we can offer our opinion without name calling. I disagree with Natalie and I will not purchase anymore of their music because of her outrageous behavior.
