There have been many boards on the battle against rap. And I 100% agree with all of them. Rappers and "gangsters" are nothing but stereotypical people who think beating their women, drugs, cursing, sex, and selling their music to a younger audience is cool. The way they even talk is disgraceful such as "Yo son my low rider is mad tight yo, we gon pick up some hoes and take um to da bar fool". The thing that upsets me the most is that rappers have absolutely no talent. All they do is sit there- try to make up some bull crap rhymes and then steal a beat from a former hit. How the hell is that talent?! I am a young teenager and I have given rap many chances but I don't get the concept of it. Look at rock bands such as KoRn, Alice in chains, Nirvana and Green Day. These people have actual talent. They pick up their instruments and sing their heart out because they have actual talent. They give the time to amuse and express their feelings to everyone who loves rock.

I am making a road trip mix for a friend of mine that is moving to Cali. I thought it would be a good idea to have songs that reference (even if its just in one phrase) the states that she will be driving through. She is leaving from Columbus, OH and driving to LA. Any help would be appreciated! All Types of music are fine

I’m looking for some good music to get for my 11 year old cousin. I’m trying to stay away from the kiddie-pop stuff that’s everywhere these days, do in large part to the fact that I think it may be starting to make her mother’s ears bleed, LOL.

For her last birthday, I made her a CD that included songs by KT Tunstall, The Bangles, Aretha Franklin and Blondie, to name a few. But now I’ve kind of hit a brick wall in trying to come up with new ideas.

So, do you have any good suggestions for appropriate (no vulgarity, not anything TOO adult), cool music (single songs or entire albums) for a pre-teen? Old classics or stuff with a rock or jazzy bent would be a big plus.

Thanks for your help!

My mother is trying to remember a song she believe to be from the 70s or 80s in the style of the Village People with a chorus that repeats the phrase "Work!" over and over.
I think I may have heard the song but can't remember enough about it to find it. Any clues?

Is there anyone else out there that felt The Beatles were overrated? I personally liked a band name The Kinks better which was around back then. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they sucked or anything. I think that The Beatles consisted of four extremely talented men but some of their songs were not really what they were hyped-up to be. Some of it was very corny & too simple. I liked John Lennon a lot in his solo career, I love the songs, Imagine, Whatever gets you through the night, #9 Dream, Instant Karma, & a lot of them, but as for the Beatles, the only album I really liked was, Sgt. Peppers Lonely Heart's Club Band, I liked a few songs off Abby Road, & honestly only one or two off the White Album. Anyone agree or disagree & care to share why?

I have no idea what the song is. My ex-girlfriend has been trying to find out forever what the name of it is. It's a new song by a black singer, and it has something to do with "Freaky deaky deaky."
Any ideas?

My boyfriend is a really talented singer in a gospel choir, he teaches the choir all of the music through instrumental but they don't have any music backing them up so it takes them longer to rehearse. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get the instrumental version to some gospel music. Just leave a comment and we can e-mail each other back and forth with the details. Thanks to all that help!!!

I'm desperate to find out who sang a song called luna. I remember the video vividly. It was in black and white with the male singer wandering around a barren landscape then at the end the moon appears . It was such a cool video and song.
