I already answered one of your questions before, about your rage on Rap. Your wasting your time dissing how much you don't like it. Rap isn't about gangsters, women, drugs, cursing, and sex. Besides, Rock has all the words you mentioned as well. Rock is the worst genre out there in my opinion but you know what, statistics proven that Rock listeners are more likely to cause a felony. I can say the same about Rock. "Rock is nothing more than worthless genre that influences people to go crazy and mark their faces in makeup and the Rock artists has no talent". I respect your love for Rock, but you gone to far messing with the Rap Answers! Community. I will repeat the words I wrote in your other question
If you don't like Rap don't listen to it, and stop ragging on how much you don't like it. It's your opinion anyways, leave the Rap or the Hip-hop to the real listeners. Like most say, not all Rap is bad. Lupe Fiasco, and Kanye West are the freshest guys out there with no bad lyrics. Will Smith, when he was rapping was fresh too. Listen to his Hip-hop (Rap) songs. OK to answer your 2 concerns
1. Rap always been about life, poetry, and fantasies nothing more. Rap been here for a very long time, and Rap proved 2 main points. Struggles of people living a hard life, and rapping to people to not follow their lives and live well. Another point is to make series of songs that is danceable, and hip. Some fall in the border line, but anyways Tupac followed the two main points. He wrote poetry to influence others to fall in the same position as he was.
2. Rock is not better than Rap in my opinion, but Statistics proved that Rock Listeners are more than likely to cause a felony. There's more Rock people in jain than Rap people. Anyways you can listen to whatever you want, but don't express dislikes on a topic you don't know or like.

Rap music, in my opinion, (especially in the 2000's) is a disgrace to music. How are you going to call talking behind a crappy beat in a "gangster" accent music?? If you search the definition of music it states that music expresses elements of rhythm, melody, harmony, and color. Rap expresses none of those characteristics. Even if rap would be about saving lives and changing the world it would still be crap because of the sound. Music is supposed to be full of melody. Rap personally makes my ears bleed. This doesn't mean that I'm a fan of rock either. I have a wide variety of genres that i listen to but rap is NOT a genre, in my opinion, so i don't listen to it.

i agree w/ some of the ppl above me. I'm not a big fan of rap but I'm not gonna put down the whole genre. I agree that most of today's rap is complete crap. But there were SOME decent rap songs that had to do with politics. The only kind I listen to though, is rock songs with a bit of rap like Rage Against the Machine.

Get you brain checked into a mental hospital. The rap you hear on the radio is terrible...meaningless. There are tons of real rappers out there. Just turn of MTV and the radio to find them. Old acts like Public Enemy, Tribe Called Quest, and Beastie Boys were real rap-acts. Most rapped about meaningful issues. Those that rapped about gangsta, were giving REAL descriptions of gangsta life and ghettos. Serious stuff, not the crunk crap by Lil Jon and talentless blah by MIMS and 50 Cent.
Open your mind a little. I like KoRn, AIC, and GD, but seriously, I bet you couldn't come up with some good rap within 60 seconds and then apply it to the beat. Try it...you'll fail in 5 seconds.

Dead Prez
The Fugee's
Jay-Z
Nas
Old School is the BEST. :) But you are right about mainstream. Get into underground rap.
Now your examples were terrible. KoRn? And Green Day?
They are two of the biggest disgraces to Rock. KoRn is okay. But Green Day is terrible they spend their whole album bashing America. That's the most unintellectual concept for an album I've ever heard in my life. Not only that but you just tried to define an entire genre of music.Listen to Dead Prez they write about how messed up our schools are. Also about the book Animal Farm by George Orwell. The Fugee's write about how one day the world will be a better place if we try to make it a better place. And Nas is very political themed as are Dead Prez. And this is coming from a fan of Punk Rock. You could have defended rock with way better examples like Zeppelin or Pink Floyd and the Misfits and The Ramones.
But I'm just saying it seems like you are stereotyping no offense intended. I used to think it was lame but I watched Dave Chappeles Block Party and found Dead Prez and now do like some rap. I'm just saying don't be so narrow minded on music and talk about how bad it sucks. Everyone likes different things. Besides there's rock radio stations.

Mainsteam rap is mainly like that, talking about having sex and getting drugged up and being all cool and stuff. But some of the under ground rap I've heard makes profound statements about societal pressure and injustice and other meaningful things. Sadly, the only rap that most people now is on the surface. I wish I could show this one video of a rapper who told how a young African-American is sucked into a gang from societal pressure and the need to fit in. It was incredibly heart-breaking, actually reminded me of poetry.

While I agree with you that rap is talentless, the content you hate so much is the "gangsta" rap. Rap was good until that came around. It poisoned the entire rap genre. Also, freestyling takes a little talent, so it's not completely talentless.
And I think you could do better with the talent examples. Green Day plays three or four chords per song. Just me, but I think a band like Slayer or Pantera would be a better example.

Not all rap sucks. Some songs are quite good.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdH4NkKzbv4
This song is quite enjoyable. I advise you to think before you say that rap and gangsters are nothing by sterotypical people. I know many who aren't amd they would murder you if you say that. I ,myself love rock. And you can find better examples that Korn, Alice In Chains, Nirvana, and Green Day. Such as Cheap Trick, Guns N Roses, AC/DC, Bon Jovi, and Bowie. But it is also true many rap artists don't have talent. Some do though. Very few but they do.
