Anyone know of any bands that are somewhat new (formed within the past decade or so) that have lead singers with big vocal ranges (like Jimmy Gnecco from Ours) or with high vocal ranges (Matt Bellamy of Muse)? Preferably rock/hard rock/alternative bands.

I'm having an argument with my friend. She believes if the Pixies had never existed, Nirvana would still be at the level they are today. I disagree. Kurt had even said himself that "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was his attempt to copy the Pixies. What do you think?

For me there are alot of times when I will hear a song, and it will instantly remind me of how I was feeling when I first heard the song or when I was listening to it. It feels like i am vividly reliving everything that was going on at that time of my life. Does anyone else feel like that?
