Anyone know of any bands that are somewhat new (formed within the past decade or so) that have lead singers with big vocal ranges (like Jimmy Gnecco from Ours) or with high vocal ranges (Matt Bellamy of Muse)? Preferably rock/hard rock/alternative bands.

The greatest vocalist I've ever heard was Corey Glover from Living Colour. He has a rock/R&B solo album with some of the most insanely high screams you'll ever hear.

man, you should totally check out the hardcore band Ignite. their music is hard, fast and aggressive, while at the same time catchy and intelligent. what helps to make them stand out is that singer Zoli Teglas, unlike other punk singers, doesn't gargle through the songs. he can hit pitches some female singers can't, yet still sounds like a man. probably cause he's classically trained, and conveys more passion in a song than most bands (even hardcore bands) do in an album. check them out by all means. the band's a hardcore punk rock band, so i guess thats "hard rock/alternative"
