Old school rap. Lyrics to songs like "White Lines(Don't Do It) and "The Message" actually had some social significance. and meaning. Other older rap songs were just fun to listen to without the bad language.
Today a lot of the rap is basically about booty, bucks, and blood.

Old school because it had a message. However, the new school rappers are more talented in their delivery and creativity.
If the new schoolers could go back to some of rap's old roots and give me something original, I would probably start listening to it again.

I guess the reason why i prefer Old school was because of the simplicity. Now they are trying to invent new saying and slang terms. For example Ay BAy BAy to typical me and you means maybe a cat call to a good looking girl walking by. but the Hurricane means "I'M With that"( like I agree) how does he get that from ay bay bay beat me.

The stuff between the Old and New is the best because the Oldskool stuff was more dance and less lyrics and the new stuff is just a bunch of fake losers.
