Personally i prefer British Music as it is a lot more "real" and isn't manufactured singers who's voices are put through a computer and made to sound good. Well I need to find a Turkish song which i named "aya benazir" dunno much about it except that he English translation of the first line is "love is like a moonlight and is shining on my heart" Hopefully someone wud know atleast the name of the singer or where can I download it from.......keeping my fingers crossed

Don't tell me it's popularity. There are so many indie and british bands who are huge elsewhere in the world and have more than enough potential to be huge here, but have never had any exposure. When a new single comes out, who determines whether or not to play it on the radio in the first place? Is it some corporate exec or are there other forces at work here? It's really frustrating to me.

OK, this might sound weird, but does anyone else really hate bands that sing with regional accents, for example the Kooks, Arctic Monkeys, etc, etc? It really annoys me - they are obviously singing in a way that makes them sing and keep their accent, because when people sing, they lose their accents. They are just doing it because that is the 'cool' thing at the moment. SING PROPERLY!!!!!!!!!!

Tonight on American Idol, Jon Bon Jovi is the vocal coach, and all the contestants, so help them God, have to sing Bon Jovi songs. I have to say that, after hearing a number of that band's songs over the years on the radio, I can honestly say that I have never heard a Bon Jovi song I liked -- not a single one. I can't think of too many other bands which have
released more than a few albums that I can say the same thing about (Iron Maiden and Judas Priest come immediately to mind).
If anyone responds, besides telling me how wrong I am about Bon Jovi (and I will admit that Jon seems like an awfully nice guy), I'm interested in hearing what bands you're familiar with that have released at least several albums, where you can't name even one song that you like.

Many years ago I heard Johnny Cash on the radio sing a song that I liked but have never heard since. The first lines of the song were something like-

I had heard the song before but it was used in a video game advertisement and I cant get it out of my head. The lyrics that I could hear/understand/remember are:
... familiar places, warm embraces, smiling faces, smiling faaaaces.... (chorus) bad world... bad world...
it is possible that i misunderstood bad world and it is actually mad world...
