I've been learning to play the violin for about two years to now. I still feel like I'm not good enough compare to others. My parents think that I should not play anymore because they think that learning for two years should be already good by now even though they say that I'm not progressing. I just want to know how long it takes to be a professional violinist so I could tell them that it doesn't take two years to be one.

Ok - here we go again....I won the last bet with the help of all of you - I have a teenage daughter who loves to outsmart me with her knowledge of music. She reminds me that I am just not "hip" enough to know or remember all of the names of songs. So a few times a week at dinner she will throw a line of a song out to me and give me 24 hours to come up with the right answer. One of my sons will hold the answer to keep things fair. We always go for $5 but this time she needs to pay for a new camera that she wants so the bet is at $20 - I will more than likely end up paying for her camera but it is nice to watch her figure out ways to outsmart her old man. I can't put lyrics on my iPod I have put them on the song and then loaded it on my iPod but it will not come up. Please help!!!!!
