I need new music to listen to I am so bored with what I have, not that I don't love it, but I need new stuff.

Looking for a song for a friend of mine. Only information I can supply is the following:
Song about a boy that lives in a street where the other kids don't like him.
Towards the end of the song, a car looses control and is heding towards a girl playing on the road.
Boy pushes the girl out of the way in the nick of time but is hit by the car and dies.
Song is sung by a male artist.
Not sure of an exact date of release but he is sure it was early 60's.
I know it's not a lot to go by but if this information does jog any memories, I would appreciate any help.

The reason I ask is tonight I got compared to Tupac...which I never would have even joked about considering how ppl feel about Tupac. I feel like this is the biggest compliment I will ever receive! I asked WHY and the guy said it was the attitudes in the lyrics. Hard hitting and don't play!
