Check out Morbid Angel's CD Domination. If you love that old school metal, you'll love this too. They have lots of CDs and this one isn't the most recent (1991 I think) but its one of the angriest.
You can hear it and thier CD Covenant (God Of Emptiness is best on it) at rhapsody.com for free when you download it. They give you 25 songs a month for free and you have an option to buy more. If you like and remember that old school stuff you mentioned, you may already know these guys; they're just alot heavier.

maybe try some rancid, nofx, operation ivy for punk type stuff. i think that's what they are considered at least. personally, i love hinder, buckcherry, lynam and black stone cherry right now.
