Why do people sing "Rock a bye baby" to their children at when the song is about putting your baby in a tree and letting the wind crash the cradle to the ground?

There was a band that played, I believe shortly after Josh Groban sang. They had a back drop video with what looked like feathers falling. They were dressed in black shirts with ties. Who was it? bty, won't Nellie Furtado be EMBARRASSED when she realizes that we could see through her dress? (jk)

I'm thinking of the music from approximately 1988-1992. It was sort of a transitional period between 80's pop/R&B and 90's dance/R&B. Think Vanessa Williams, Black Box, Kylie Minogue, Technotronic, C&C Music Factory, etc. Is there a word for it?

my friends having a party and i have to make the cd mixes for her. Most of the kids at the party are going to be rock kids. So i figured instead of making cd's full of dancey techno songs I'd make something diffrent with music we'd actually like. The kids will be like 16ish & i think mostly girls. So party rock songs. XD

In Akon's "Smack That" video, there is a blonde girl dancing. Well, actually there are two dancing on the runway/stage, and I know one is Kendra the Playmate, but who is the other one? The one that gets the most show time.

It goes something like "It's tricky to rock a rhyme, to rock a rhyme that's right on time, it's trickay. It's tricky, tricky, tricky, tricky. I met this little girly, her hair was kind of curly. To go to her house and bust her out I had to be real early. These girls are kind of sleazy. All they just say is please me or spend some time and rock a rhyme, I said it's not that easy. It's tricky to rock a rhyme, to rock a rhyme that's right on time, it's trickay. Tricky, tricky, tricky, tricky.

It's a CD (no. AWM017) which I totally love and am desperate to get more of in the same style. Trouble is, there's no artist details except "Composed by: Arr. Fiket Erkol" and it says it's "Licensed from @RT.COM". I think it might have been recorded in France in 1999 (found some details on Google), but the tracks have obviously passed through Holland cos it also says it's "Marketed and distributed by Weton-Wesgram BV Oud-Beijerland, the Netherlands". Help! I must have more of this style of music cos it's exactly the sort of Turkish music I love. What style is it - where can I get more?
