Why do people sing "Rock a bye baby" to their children at when the song is about putting your baby in a tree and letting the wind crash the cradle to the ground?

Maybe because the melody is song sounds soothing, or to give there children comfort that there mom will be there to catch them in hard times "when the bough breaks the cradle will fall and mommy will catch you cradle and all".

it is one of the oldest lullaby and small kids love to be rock to sleep with the song and in the mother arms.

i guess...theres a story behind that song....the melody is great....thats why it design to put the baby to sleep

its a lullaby.... besides babies cant still understand that....so it doesnt matter as long as the baby will not fall while your holding him/ her....
