I don't know the artist, but the distinguishing feature of this version was the sound of steps over fall leaves both at the beginning and end of the song, and a soft drum beat accompanying the chorus line. It's an all time favorite of mine so I'd greatly appreciate any clues.

It was either in the late 60's or early 70's, and it was an instrumental track that had a brass section that was just tearing it up. There was a guitar playing a single note accompanyment and it had a shuffle feel to it. Imagine if Wild Cherry's "Play that funky Music" and Young Holt Unlimited's "Soulful Strut" got together and had a baby.

I've heard it in movies, television, and occasionaly on classic rock radio...I'm pretty sure it was a 70's hit.

Help! It's stuck in my head!

PS: It's not Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass.

I think Brooke Hogan doesn't have much talent in singing to work with and thats why the guy sang most of the song. Does anyone else agree with me.

I may be ten years old but I still know what's up.
I wear my Cramps shirt almost every single day.
I want to sag my pants.
I want to pogo dance,
but Mom won't let me so I might just run away.
