I used to know some of the band during the 80's. I was in a pub and got talking to 2 women, one of them said "what kind of music do you like"? I answered I'm really into a band called "The Men They Couldn't Hang" anyway as the evening went on I offered one of them a room in the house I was staying in at the time in Chiswick. A week after she had moved in, she brought her boyfriend back, and he only turned out to be the lead singer of TMTCH, called Swill. This turned out to be quite good for me, as I often got into some of the gigs they played at. I thought they were a great band and could never really understand why they didn't get as much attention as the Pogues. I felt they were in a similar vein, probably The Men were a bit more political and that may have been one of the reasons they were not embraced by the largly materialistic society of the time. I would like to find out what has become of them all, and how they are faring. Are they planning to get back together and play gigs?
