Bob Dylan, The Black Crowes, and Simon and Garfunkel?

all righteous ... Bob Dylan is one of the greatest song writers of all time and people want to get down on him for his voice, that's what real music is all about, not having to supposedly sound perfect. The Black Crowes rock, I like Chris Robinson's passion. And Simon and Garfunkel... man, some of the most beautiful songs. Some of their harmonies move me to tears ... sorry for the corney-ness ...

Simon and Garfunkel: their combined songwriting talents totaled into a supergroup duo that etched forever many anti-war/peacetime ballads that stand as "peace rock" icons.

Dylan, both in his writing and voice, had a unique edge to his own anti-war edge. And when Siagon fell and Vietnam faded into history, so did fame's bright candle on Dylan, Simon and Garfunkle.

The Black Crows tried a revamp of Dylan's style: a risky move, that paid off with a small handful of radio airplay hits. The Black Crows were the closest to come in duplicating Dylan's magic--which still remains fully mastered by anyone else to this day.

I am curious as to how you came to ask about these three music entities - Bob Dylan and Simon and Garfunkel are from one era of music and The Black Crowes another and are also very different in the types of music they perform - Simon and Garfunkle were sort of ballad, coffee house style and Dylan of course was unique in his ballad troubidore style - The Block Crows, if I'm not mistaken, were more alternative rock - my son used to listen to them - how did you come to ask opinions of such diverse regions of performers I wonder - at any rate, I am of the Dylan and S and G era and still enjoy their music today - some of Paul Simon's solo stuff is also good - The Black Crows - in all honesty other than telling my son to please lower the volume I don't know much about! I think Dylan is a genius - but I enjoy the songs he wrote - not so much hearing him sing them. I like hearing him sing 'Rainy Day Woman' - otherwise, I'll stick to covers.

The Black Crows - eh - they're OK. They've got some good songs, but I've never followed their work much.

Paul Simon & Art Garfunkel - I really enjoy Simon & Garfunkel. Really mellow with great harmonies. I like most of Paul Simon's work, too. (I'll sit and listen to his Graceland CD at work). But what was Garfunkel thinking when he decided to head out for a 'solo career'?!!??!?!

Bob well he's got an unbeatable talent for writing song but someone should tell him to let someone else do the singing......all i need to say about the black crowes is that they are the best damn rock n roll band you will ever hear...that is, if you allow yourself to feel their music and not just listen to it! Lastly Simon and Garfunkel....super songwriters and performers during that musical era, but just a little too mellow for me personally.

Aaaaahhhhhh!!!!!!!! WTF?!! How do all these people not know who they are!? Bob Dylan is one of the greatest songwriters of all time, yet he was one of the worst singers of all time. I'm not a huge Black Crowes fan, but they had some good stuff. "She Talks To Angels" is a great song. Great acoustic guitar intro. And Simon and Garfunkel are great, as well. Paul Simon is a great songwriter. The Graduate had one of the greatest soundtracks of all time.
All of you who don't know who these people are really need a musical education. You don['t have to like them, but you really should know about them.

I love Bob Dylan! He is an amazing artist. As for the others, I really dont know who they are but if there in the same line as bob dylan they must be awesome too!
