Just watched the blade trilogy and realised just how bad the third one is compared to the first two. Same with the x-men trilogy (x-men 3 isn't of the same calibre as the first two). Return of the Jedi could be seen in the same light (it is weak compared to Star Wars and Empire strikes back)
Anyway, my question. Does anyone think that if a trilogy is made, most often than not, the third and final film is by far the weakest of the three?

I think many a times the deversiving movie or actors don't get their due in the oscars. i even think the originality level of film making has gone way down now a days. What is your take on this matter?

I can not for the life of me remember the name of a movie I use to watch as a kid growing up. It was about a boy who had a golden apple....I think. He ended up in a magical fantasy world where he got an invisible cloak. He also ended up getting a sword that took a hundred years to forge to kill the main bad dude. PLEASE HELP.... My sister and I are racking our brains trying to figure this out...any input will be greatly appreciated.

The one I have in my own mind was released in the last year. I saw it as one half hour of porn followed by an hour and a quarter of gut-wrenching disgust. I vacillate between feeling it was brilliant or just plain twisted... that it was either a morality play gone awry or a pretentious avant-guard piece of poo-poo... at times I thought it attempted to be supremely didactic but left me a sense of nihilism, I was fascinated and revulsed... even the women in it were supremely gorgeous in the flashing neon of nightlife yet grotesquely hideous in the revealing light of day... HOSTEL, or was it HELL. What's yours.

I am looking for it everywhere, I just watched a fragment of it cannot remember what it was.. OK. There are 8 (or 6) people confined to a building. These might be FBI or CIA agents, don't remember exactly. And one of them is a traitor or a murderer... The movie was produced either in 2005 or 2006.
