I think many a times the deversiving movie or actors don't get their due in the oscars. i even think the originality level of film making has gone way down now a days. What is your take on this matter?

Yes! and it has gotten far too political... they're starting to give awards to individuals in groups that have been ignored by the awards in the past almost like they are trying to made amends rather than basing their decision on pure merit.
That and it has become far too common for the judges to jump on a bandwagon and give all the awards to one film so you end up with these super block buster films that sweep the night and take home 14 awards while everyone else goes home with one if they're lucky.

Yes. When Rachel Weisz can win an Academy Award there is a problem.

I think it has always been a promotional event and that it has more to do with career politics than actual talent.

AND WHY SHOULD INDIAN FILMS NEED TO BE SCREENED.
HOLLYWOOD NEVER SEND THEIR FILMS HERE.USA IS NOT A JUDGE.
