What did they do to macmurphy when they took him away? Did they fry his brain and hes a veggie, is that why the chief killed him?

they gave mcmurphy a lobotomy. the chief killed him because it was no longer REALLY him - he was putting him out of his misery.

They gave him a labotomy, he has enough brain power to function but not have rational thought patterns. The chief killed him to put him out of his misery, he was already, bsically brain dead!
