(A bit of background info for non-British, C&A used to be a large department store in England).
A blonde lady is sitting in a bar having a drink and an Irish man walks in and sits on the stool next to her. He had big wellington boots on which he promptly took off. The blonde lady notices they have an "L" and an "R" in the left and right wellingtons respectively. Curious, the blonde lady asks Why have you got an L and an R in your wellies?" The Irish man replies "because im a bit dim you see, it tells me which welly is for my left foot and which is for my right", the blonde lady replies "ohhhhh, so thats why ive got C&A in my knickers then".

I remember the Sugden Farm was called Emmerdale Farm for years, but after the plane crashed into the village the village changed its name. But what was it before? And why was it changed to Emmerdale? Sad question I know, but its bugging me now.
