On 'Supernatural', what is with the cast on Sam's arm?

The cast has been on the character's arm for like an entire season... Is it a continuity issue now or did the actor break his arm and they filmed ALL the episodes before he healed up?

I need a good enough western to follow up The Proposition?

I just watched The Proposition, which was an insanely good, gritty, violent and frankly awesome take on the western, on australia...I just loved it. The only problem is, there's no sequel and I really want more movies with that kind of energy and emotion.

Are there any westerns you would recommend that also have that gritty, brutal, realistic sense to them? Can you maybe provide a bit of a description rather than just listing? I'm new to the genre.
