On 'Supernatural', what is with the cast on Sam's arm?

The cast has been on the character's arm for like an entire season... Is it a continuity issue now or did the actor break his arm and they filmed ALL the episodes before he healed up?

well...he did break his arm during the beginning of the season...I've never broken my arm before so I have no idea how long it takes lol....I actually heard he gets the cast off soon...maybe for the next episode? They probably did film a lot of the episodes with it on...though tonight in Playthings...didn't he mention he was looking for Ava for over a month? I thought broken arms heal in like 1 month, maybe a little more? idk haha...he's gonna get it off soon :)

Actually, in season 2, episode 4, "children shouldn't play with dead things" Sam and Dean are luring the Zombie girl to grave so they can "stake" her in her coffin. As Sam is running and Zombie girl is chasing him, I believe she pushes him, but at any rate, he falls. This is where he breaks his wrist. If you watch the episode you can see the grimace on his face and see that something is wrong. At the end of the episode he says to Dean, "I think she broke my arm." Dean says something to the effect of, "You're too fragile. We will take you to the doctor and get it checked out." (this probably wasn't originally in the script, but added after the incident to explain the cast that we might see later). As it turned out, he had the cast in the next episode on.

I am sooo tired of seeing that stupid white cast!!! But he broke his wrist during a stunt at the beginning of this season, and I guess it hasn't fully healed yet. And I believe that's the same wrist/arm he hurt in the first season during a bar fight. I'm not sure, but if it is the same arm, then maybe that has something to do with it still not healed.
