My field of study in college is Psychology. I chose Psychology as my major for many reasons,one reason is that growing up ,at the age of twelve I developed an eating disorder,my disorder continued on for more than five years,I feel that my doctors did not understand what was going on in my mind and how I felt becuase they they had never had an eating disorder or any other type of mental illness.Having gone through mental illness and over coming it I will be able to understand my patients more and have better more realistic ideas and solutions to help them overcome their illness.

My contribution to the world will be helping the world understand why people from all walks of life do the things that they do ,and their thinking behind their life choices, and possibly stop dangerous or criminal behavior in people which could lower crime rates in the world.

2nd part- A StraightForward Media Minority Scholarship will help me meet my educational and professional goals by giving me an opportunity to study in a school where I can become the first person in my family to reciece a doctrate and have a career in a profession that is high paying but still helps people.
