I don't really think that would be fair.
People generally give a thumbs up if they like your answer.
On the other hand, some people give a thumbs down to all the answers except their own.
Thumbs up indicates a positive reaction.
Thumbs down could mean any number of things - one being anger at not being chosen as best answer. Hard to justify taking away points for a thumbs down.

I think you should get points for a thumbs up, but if you get a thumbs down, it's really not your fault, so you shouldn't lose points for a thumbs down. In fact, you shouldnt lose points for anything but deleting an awnser.

well...i would like it if u got at least a point for a thumbs up but not if u loss a point for a thumbs down and if they do chnage it then they'll probably gonna change the thumbs down rule...(which is bad) so i kinda like how it is right now...

I gave you a thumbs down, and I wouldn't really care if people gave me a thumbs down. I come on this for entertainment and being a help. The points don't add any more excitement. And anyways, I don't have any questions to ask.

Yes, I think that would be a good incentive to keep ridiculous and disgusting questions from being asked. Of course, I suppose the ones who ask them don't really care anyway so I don't know how much good it would do.
