Try this one..?

A man and his son are driving down a country road when the man driving falls asleep and veers off the road. They wreck the car and the driver is unhurt but the son is hurt badly. A passer-by picks them up and rushes them to the hospital. Upon arriving the young man is hurried into the operating room where the surgeon says "I can not operate on him--he's my son" How can this be?

Quiz show puzzles - Word quiz?

Does anyone know the method(s) used by those quiz show programmes that ask you to "add the numbers"? Usually it is something on screen like "seven plus twelve time nine miuns eight", then under the box is "Add all the numbers". They seem to defy conventional maths, but people still seem to win. Any suggestions please??

You are lost walking in the woods. It is a mid-winter blizzard. After what seems an eternity you stumble, cold and weary, onto a log cabin. You go in and it is abandoned except for some modest supplies. You know you need to warm up to survive. You look around the room and see a lantern, a box of candles, a sterno heater, and a fireplace with a pile of wood. You keep looking and find a matchbox with one and only one match inside. a joke for you..... :)?

A group of Co-workers is standing around the
office of their lawfirm. The main discussion
was Bill.

Bill was an upbeat guy, always replying to any
situation "It could of been worse". They came
up with a brillant idea. They were to make up a
situation so bad even Bill can't find the better
side of it.

The next day Bill was approached by his
co-workers. One of them started describing the
plot.

It started out with "Hey Bill, did you hear about
Frank".

Bill, not knowing what was going on replied no.
Another worker continued. "When he got home last
night he caught his wife in bed with another man.
He went to his closet, grabbed his shotgun, shot
his wife, shot the man, then turned the gun on
himself, now they're all dead.

Bill smiled and replied "It could have been
worse".

One of the workers piped up "How could it be
worse"?

Bill said "Two nights earlier and I'd be dead!"

How can he escape?

Two convicts are locked in a cell. There is an unbarred window high up in the cell. No matter if they stand on the bed or one on top of the other they can't reach the window to escape.
They then decide to tunnel out. However, they give up with the tunneling because it will take too long. Finally one of the convicts figures out how to escape from the cell.

What is his plan?
