And do you play certain types for every emotional situation you are in?

I couldn't possibly pick a favourite type of music... all music feeds the body and mind, if a piece of music touches me in some way (from crappy pop, rap, classical, indie... don't care) then I will listen to it.

But some of my favourites for different situations:
The Smiths for every day - think Marr and Morrissey are genius!
Deepak Chopra (Gift of Love 1) - for chilling and when feeling content and in the bedroom!
Nina Simone - when feeling low.

Classical music is my ultimate favorite music! It is the only music I listen to! You cannot BELIEVE how many emotions can be tapped by listening to a particular piece. Some can be heroic and triumphant, while others are reminiscent and peaceful. Then there are those pieces that are stormy and intense, and ultimately, those that are sad and mournful. I listen to this music on my iPod, and it defintely enhances what is going on around me. You cannot believe the rush of an intense track as you are riding a bike across a college campus, or the serenity I feel as I walk.

Overall, my favorite type of music has to be 80's rock. Def Leppard, Quiet Riot, AC/DC, Scorpions, Warrant, etc... Strong beat and fantastic guitar solos that cannot be beat. However, I do listen to other music from a very wide range... and yes, it does depend a lot on my mood.

Sad = Country or Gospel
Need something to energize me = Celtic
Too stressed = Enya
Nastalgic = Jackson Browne or Lynyrd Skynyrd or John Denver
Happy = Party music

I never know. My tastes in music change regularly, though I like a little bit of rocky type music most at the moment. Ecclectic tastes are best to have! Appreciate the tastes of others and everything that's out there.

Generally, rock. And most of the time I pick a certain genre for the mood I'm in..(like if I wanna just kick back and relax I usually go with some classic rock)

Anything by anyone really... I'm not a music snob, and I love everything from Classical to Hip Hop as long as it talks to me and touches me in some way.

When I'm sad, then I listen to "Black is the Colour of My True Love's Hair" by Nina Simone, my father used to sing this all the time... and it just reminds me of him.

When I want to chill... then the Afro Celt Sound System are brilliant... really haunting tracks, reminds me of the sea and moutains.....

This is always a hard 1 to answer because my tastes vary so much! I find i play music depending on my mood, if im decorating i like something like the blackeyed peas, something loud & upbeat. If im in a bad mood, puddle of mud on full blast works every time. My list just goes on & on..........

When driving, and clubbing I can't resist the melodic, hypnotic sounds of all things Goth!
At home I tend to listen to folky kind of music, like The Be Good Tanya's or Joni Mitchell!
